About this project

Nom Nom: Cozy Forest Café is a cozy and relaxing decoration and rhythm game where you manage a café and befriend cute animals.

I composed the music for the rhythm games inspired by each meal in the game. Also, the decoration music has different layers depending on the menu or section you are in! It was a true pleasure to work for this incredible game and contribute with my music to this amazing project.

About this project

This is the next project Super Mega Team is working on! After the release of The Knight Witch, this incredible company with many years of experience is facing a new creative challenge by creating a pixel art game.
Terrible Life Expectancy is a survival game with roguelite elements! You’ll die many times and with every death you’ll improve your weapons and abilities, as well as your knowledge of the game.
The music and sound design focuses on creating a tense atmosphere, giving the feeling that every second can be your last one alive.
In this game I’m in charge of the audio direction, creation, and programming, designing and crafting all the audio assets and implementing them with FMOD and Unity.

Leafblade

About this project

Leafblade is a cozy mix of ARPG and monster tamer. You have to fight along the Mons you meet in your adventure to recover the bond between humans and Mons, taking care of them in your farm and improving their skills while ensuring their happiness. It’s the first project from Wayward Games, a team made of people who have worked in games like Moonlighter or The Knight Witch.
I’m creating the soundtrack and game design, as well as implementing it with FMOD.

About this project

Lethal honor is a brutal and punishing roguelite game set in an obscure world ravaged by an apocalypse. Fight your way through relentless battles and experience a story told through the lens of an 80’s adult superhero graphic novel. The comic-like graphics are stunning!
I participated in this game as part of Groovel Studios. I composed the music for most of the cinematics, as well as some leitmotiv variations and some sound design help.

About this project

ABOUT

Hi! I’m Adrián, a freelance music composer and sound designer from Valencia, Spain.

I believe music is one of the most powerful tools for emotional connection and storytelling. My compositions are melodic and expressive, always focused on enhancing the narrative and immersion of a project. I’m also very passionate about adaptive audio and its endless possibilities to elevate the final result of interactive experiences.

Why I love music and audio for media

I’ve always been fascinated by how video game and film music leave a lasting impact. How, even years later, listening to a soundtrack can bring back emotions and memories in such an intense way. The music of video games like Undertale and A Short Hike, or films like Spirited Away, will always stay with me. And games like Inside and Hellblade taught me how powerful sound design can be in storytelling. That’s why one of my biggest motivations is to create music that resonates and stays within players and audiences for a lifetime.

My background and education

My background is rooted in classical music, with over 20 years of education in cello and piano. Later, my passion for storytelling through sound led me to specialize in film and game audio, earning a Master’s degree in Soundtrack Scoring and an Advanced Diploma in Sound for Audiovisual Media. This allowed me to combine my classical foundation with modern audio techniques, learning the specific tools and creative processes behind video game and film sound. My experience

For the past few years, I’ve been working as a freelance composer and sound designer, contributing to indie games like Nom Nom: Cozy Forest Café or Leafblade, as well as short films like Sensus and El Secreto. My goal is always to create music and sound design that elevates the world and emotions of every story.

Soft Skills

– Versatility: Can adapt and make music or sound in any genre the project needs. I love the process of exploring new music, understanding how it’s done and incorporating that knowledge into my composition process. For example, years ago some friends asked me if I could do a city pop track for their university project. I hadn’t ever listened to that genre, but I spent some time with that and came up with this theme, which they loved. I learned a lot by doing that and now I really love city pop!
– Communication
– Team player: I love working in team environments! I truly believe that creative collaboration brings out ideas that wouldn’t be possible otherwise, creating something unique that makes the final result of the project even more impactful
– Learning addict

Hard Skills

– DAW: I mostly use Reaper, but I ‘ve worked with Studio One, Pro Tools, and a little Cubase.
– Middleware: I usually use FMOD, but I’ve been learning Wwise so I would be able to use it in any project
– Engines: I’ve implemented audio in Unity (basic C#) and Unreal Engine 5 (blueprints). I’m eager to learn metasounds and some Godot soon!
– Work environment: I’m used to work with Github, Bitbucket, Notion, Miro, Jira, Confluence, Discord… and I can adapt and learn any tool you need!

Sound Design

Shadowleaf Grove

Shadowleaf Grove is a short 2d platformer game with Metroidvania elements. The sound design had to match the dark-yet-smooth tone of the rest of the elements of the game, while also providing variety to the different areas and potions and defining the personality of the main character

Oppidum

Oppidum is an online co-op multiplayer survival, with lots of crafting, exploring, and storytelling. I worked with Groovel Studio to design some of the sounds, specially for the crafting, player interactions, and some enemies.

Camper Van: Make it Home (Sound Redesign)

This game is very cozy and beautiful. The player’s experience should be highly immersive and relaxing, so the soundscape needs to be soothing with very satisfying sound effects. It was a challenge for me to create a calm athmosphere without using music!

Sound Design Demo Reel

Having different sound palletes and being able to create sounds for diverse games with very distinct styles is essential for any sound designer. I approached this AAA redesign demo reel as a personal improvement exercise, challenging myself with bigger, more epic, and dynamic games, and adapting to the needs of each one of them
