WINDWALK GAMES

Hi! I’m Adrián Cortés, a music composer and sound designer from Spain. I’ve created this webpage to show you a little of my work in a personalized way and a part of who I am. I’ve watched your videos on Project Grimm and love the game’s mood! I think my music and sound design could fit perfectly in it and contribute to making the game better. Also, I love the idea of making music for online, multiplayer games since I have played those kinds of games a lot (including League of Legends, hehe). The feeling when you achieve something as a player is very nice, but it’s even better when you achieve it with your friends and create new ones by playing.

First of all, here you have my demo reel for this project! I’ve selected some of the works that match the style of the music you use in your videos about the game: orchestral, dark, epic music, etc. But of course, I can adapt to any other type of music to suit the game better.

Who am I?

I’ve been developing audio for video games for the last 4 years, always focusing on creating stories and enhancing emotions through interactive music and sound design. I am a very energetic and communicative person who loves teamwork.

How do I work?

I have worked with very different workflows so I can adapt to your needs. Usually, I like to be in constant communication with the team, iterating as much as possible to achieve the best results. That means I would share with you some fragments of music following your instructions and then we would define which demo fits the needs of that theme better, change what needs to be changed, and continue working from there. And the same goes for SFX.

Before I start a theme or sound effect, I like to have as much information as possible about the context, the feeling that needs to be expressed, the interactive behavior of the audio (if there’s any interactivity), and the story. But again, I can adapt to your workflow!

What is my experience?

I’ve worked on several video games and short films in the last few years! Here you have some of them:

  • Death or Treat: It’s an upcoming 2D action-roguelite with handpainted environments and traditional animation. It will be released on May 5 for PS5, Switch, XBSX, and PC. You can watch the trailer here.
  • NOX: It’s a first-person horror puzzle game in an oniric world based on the work of Escher. The adaptive music, implemented with FMOD and Unreal, is focused on creating a distinctive and tense yet nostalgic soundscape. This game won the «Best Indie Game» award at Gamergy and «Best College Video Game» at Bilbao International Games Conference. Here you can play Chapter 1 on steam.
  • Nomnom: It’s a wholesome, slow-paced game where you will have to prepare the right dishes for your customers. All the elements in the game, including the music, have the same cozy, fall-inspired direction. You can play the game here.
  • Steelbound: It’s a cooperative adventure game for two players. You take control of two siblings on their mission to return a cursed sword to its place of origin. The game won the PlayStation Talents award for «Best Original Soundtrack». You can listen to its trailer here.
  • El Secreto: It’s a film about the subtle abuse that inhabits even the smallest everyday actions. The general tone is dark, trying to transmit psychological tension, but there are some moments with dancing and more upbeat music. Here you can listen to a sample of its music.

Why would I fit?

I would fit into your company because I love working on video games and I am very dedicated to creating quality music and sound effects. I know the importance of audio in a video game so I won’t stop working hard until we achieve the best possible result. Also, my experience in the video game industry has taught me the process of creating, implementing, and testing audio assets so I would be a helpful contributor to the games.

That’s all for now! If you want something more from me, like more information, more music, or even a custom demo for your game, ask me no problem. I’m open to working and showing you what I’m capable of ^^

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read me and listen to my music. You can contact me by sending an email to contact@adriancortes.com or through WhatsApp or Telegram at (+34)667253819.

I look forward to hearing from you! Best regards,

Adrián.
